CRASH DIETS : Every fat person longs to become slim in a very short time, and this desire of becoming slim often gets converted into some sort of craze..!! A person then starts looking for a short cut.

A friend of mine reduced 25 kgs in 3 months..! Anyone would be left wide-eyed on hearing this and will at once ask for the contact details of that person.

How did he do..?

Like me, you must also have heard such conversations! If someone has achieved this result in such a short time it implies that he would have been subject to a lot of food restrictions and would have a done lot of exercises..!

Some talk of no carbohydrates diet while some talk of high protein diet. Some prefer only fruits diet while others stick to only vegetables diet. They start punishing themselves in order to fulfil their wish. In a month’s time, the weighing scale will refl ect a favourable result but it will defi nitely come at the cost of their health.

This life style was just a temporary planning! This cannot be followed life-long. Aft er a while, the lost weight will again be regained! What I fail to understand is that why do people resort to such techniques for weight loss which does not yield permanent results…Such yo-yo diets are not concerned with the principle of balanced diet. Sometimes, these short cuts may prove to be fatal.

Friends, our human body is a great gift from god which should be appreciated and loved by us. To keep it fi t and healthy, we must eat right food in the right quantity. It can be said that the food is a source of life. The concept of food and nutrition is not only related with health and beauty but it also has spiritual connections. It would not be wrong to say that the food we eat plays an important role in shaping our nature and behaviour. This has also been pointed out in our scriptures. When we take a balanced meal, our body gets all the necessary nutrients. Also, the alkaline as well as the acidic level of our body is maintained. This helps in inculcating or developing a good nature along with good thoughts and qualities.

Mahatma Gandhi said, As you eat, so you are. When satt vikta increases, it automatically gives beauty to the person.

This girl is beautiful as she has big eyes, long black hair and fair complexion. Most people often perceive beauty in this manner. We need to overcome such thinking. When there will be sweetness in our speech and thoughts, our personality will radiate beauty and this magical change will come from our food and food habits.
